Switch Integration Architect - Remote

The role involves architecting and managing the integration between Switch (presumably a payment processing system) and POS (Point of Sale) systems. The architect will be responsible for ensuring seamless communication and data flow between these two critical components.

Connex, a comprehensive EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) software solution, could play a significant role in this integration1. The architect should have a deep understanding of payment processing workflows, transaction routing, and authorization mechanisms.

Connex Knowledge:

• Given that Connex is a critical component, familiarity with its capabilities and architecture is essential.
• Connex is a comprehensive solution for ATM and POS terminal driving, transaction acquiring, switching and authorization, and interfacing with processors and hosts1.
• It operates on the IBM z/OS mainframe platform2.

Integration Expertise:

• The architect should be adept at designing and implementing integration patterns.
• Understanding protocols such as SNA, TCP/IP, X.25, and Bisync will be valuable.
• They should be able to establish smart routing to ensure transactions are efficiently processed even when primary routes are unavailable.

High Availability and Scalability:

• Connex leverages the fault-tolerant, redundant architecture of the HP NonStop hardware platform.
• The architect should be well-versed in creating a robust, high-volume, and highly available switch processing environment.
• Consideration for business continuity and disaster recovery strategies is crucial.

Flexible Configuration:

• Connex’s modular architecture allows for flexible configuration.
• The architect should be comfortable adapting to changes in processing business requirements.

Must have Skills and Experience:

• Experience working in Banking and Financial Services specifically with Card Issuing and or Card Acquiring solutions
• Experience in Schemes such as eftpos, MasterCard, Visa
• Experience in analysis, design & development of products ATM, POS, e-commerce applications and digital payments
• Proficient in reviewing and handling transaction processing fundamentals, message standards like AS2805, ISO8583 and POS & ATM native messages
