Are you ready to spearhead the transformation of air traffic control? Thales is seeking a dynamic leader to drive the evolution of the OneSKY 'Civil and Military Air Traffic Control System' (CMATS). Join us in delivering a system that will oversee 11% of the world's airspace, positioning Australia at the forefront of aviation technology.
This position has two streams of focus i.e. Work Package Management and Systems Engineering Management, and will have oversight of System Engineering, System Architecture, and Configuration Management where you'll lead the Tech Leads within a group of over 40 experts.
This role involves defining and maintaining the system's specifications and architecture, ensuring alignment with customer needs and incremental development, strategies. You'll also address technical debt and enhance configuration management processes and tools for efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead System Engineering, Architecture, and CM activities
- Coordinate engineering stakeholders to meet project milestones and costs
- Ensure functional baselines and requirements traceability
- Drive process improvement and tackle backlog effectively
- Develop policies, standards, and procedures for technical work
- Plan, launch, and execute the Work Package, ensuring alignment with project structure and customer requirements
- Manage scope changes, risks, and stakeholder relations effectively
- Capture lessons learned for continuous improvement
What You Bring:
- Demonstrated technical and managerial leadership in a large engineering environment
- Background within Systems Engineering with relevant Engineering qualifications.
- Ability to innovate, influence, and collaborate across multicultural teams
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills
- Attention to detail without losing sight of larger objectives
- Proven track record of quality and timely delivery
