About us
Spencer Accountants is a small accounting practice that has been operating in Thornlie since 2013. Our aim is to use our skills, expertise and technology to assist our clients with all their core financial needs and requirements including Tax and Accounting as well as our additional in-house services including Mortgage Brokering and Bookkeeping.
Qualifications & experience
- Completed CA/CPA with over 5 years working experience in a public accounting practice, specialising in taxation. Registered Tax Agent highly regarded but not necessary
- Excellent knowledge of Australian taxation legislation including PSI, FBT, Div7a
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Energetic and enthusiastic with a positive outlook
- Ability to work in a team and autonomously
- Experience working directly with clients
- Experience in the preparation of financial statements and tax returns
- Experience with MYOB/Xero/QuickBooks/Excel highly desirable
- Experience with Xero Tax, XPM and BGL360 highly desirable
Tasks & responsibilities
- Preparing individual tax returns during a one on one interview or from client provided information to a high and compliant standard
- Preparing financial statements and tax returns for small businesses and SMSF's
- Preparing and reviewing Business Activity Statements and quarterly management accounts in collaboration with our internal Bookkeepers
- Client management and liaison
- Working within the team
- Additional ad hoc tasks
