Bottrell Accountants & Financial Planners are recruiting a Tax Accountant to join our Maitland Office.
The Tax Accounting role will be working on Business (SME's), SMSF. & Personal clients.
At Bottrell Accounting & Taxation are located in East Maitland & Newcastle.
We offer a full range of services to our diverse Hunter Region client base from our offices.
Sign-on Bonus - We are offering a sign-on Bonus of $8,000 to be paid 50% on commencement & 50% on six months.

The Role
We currently have a position available for a Tax Accountant to join our team on a Full-Time basis at our Newcastle or East Maitland offices.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience in a professional practice working on Business & Personal Accounting & Taxation.
The candidate will possess high attention to detail and a strong work ethic, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
You must manage time efficiently, oversee other accounting team members and work directly with clients using their effective & professional communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of Business Tax Returns - Companies, Trusts, Partnerships & Sole Traders.
- Preparation & overseeing Tax Returns, BAS, IAS, and Payroll Tax.
- Preparation of Personal Tax Returns.
- Preparation of Financial Reports.
- Management Accounts preparation
- Tax Planning Strategy.
- Working directly with clients
- Assisting with enquiries in a timely fashion
- Any other duties as required by the owners, clients & government requests.
Skills and Requirements
- Degree Qualification
- Ideally CA or CPA qualification or a Tax Agent
- Exposure to a variety of accounting & tax matters, including GST, CGT, FBT and Div7
- Understanding and knowledge of accounting software, including Xero & MYOB
- Positive attitude and team player.
- Polite, friendly, and well-presented.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Motivated and possess a strong working ethic.
- Honest, integrity, and professionalism.
- Office 365, Word, Excel & Outlook.
