About the role
The Investment Services and Finance Program at Queensland Public Trustee (QPT) is dedicated to supporting decision-making, advancing accountability, and delivering high-quality services to the Public Trustee, the executive leadership team, and staff. Within this program, the Taxation Unit plays a pivotal role, providing comprehensive taxation and business services to both core operations and external customers. The Taxation Unit oversees one of the largest lodgment programs in the country, managing the taxation affairs of over 16,000 taxpayers.
As a Taxation Officer within the Investment Advisory and Taxation Services team, your primary responsibility will be to prepare income tax returns and other statutory compliance documents. You'll also assist in providing timely and accurate business support and advice in the areas of financial and taxation accounting services. This position is essential in maintaining compliance and ensuring the smooth operation of our taxation services, contributing to the financial empowerment of Queenslanders.
Your work will involve using information systems to provide service and advice to stakeholders, assisting with audits, reviews, investigations, and appraisals of systems and program evaluations. You'll report to the Principal Taxation Officers and collaborate with a dedicated team to meet productivity benchmarks and deliver exceptional service.
