John Paul College are seeking experienced Teacher Aides to join our Secondary School from January 2024.
The Diverse LearningTeacher Aides provide an essential service to the students and teachers at John Paul College. Working under the direction of the Head of Diverse Learning (Secondary) and the Dean of Pedagogy (Secondary), this busy term time role will support teachers and students in the classroom, along with other educational activities.
This support role will help to create inclusive learning environments; inspire and motivate students to commence and continue required tasks; foster positive relationships; as well as communicate with staff, students and parents in a timely and respectful manner.
You will be able to demonstrate a high level of knowledge and skill, using appropriate assessment tools to track student progress through the College’s online management system.
The engagement of this position will be approximately 38 hours per week during term time only.
About You:The ideal candidate for this role will feel comfortable being an integral part of our Diverse Learning Program.
Supporting our teachers and learners, this role will be responsible for maintaining a spirit and character that is supportive, recognising the worth of each student as an individual, in accordance with the College ethos.
It is desirable for the applicant to hold a Certificate III in Education Support and can demonstrate high quality interpersonal skills and exemplary support practice. Knowledge, experience and practical skills will enable the candidate to successfully deliver and facilitate the learning of their students.
As this role works directly with children on campus, the successful applicant will require a current Working with Children Check issued by Blue Card Services Queensland and a Current First Aid Qualification.
