Based at our Alanvale Campus in Launceston, you will play a crucial role in contributing to and leading diverse conservation projects throughout the state. This includes working in renowned locations such as the breath-taking landscapes and unique ecosystems of Maria Island, Flinders Island, and Cape Barren.You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with passionate professionals who are at the forefront of conservation practices in Tasmania. This role offers not only the chance to make a significant impact on preserving Tasmania's natural heritage but also to innovate and implement sustainable solutions that benefit our environment for generations to come.On any given day, your duties will include:
  • Educate and inspire the next generation of conservation practitioners through engaging teaching at project sites.
  • Collaborate with industry experts to drive and expand conservation initiatives.
  • Contribute to significant developments and projects across Tasmania.
  • Liaise with local councils, National Parks, and Wildlife Services on varied project-based assignments.

What will you bring
  • Expertise in reserve and bushland management, with a focus on ecological restoration and revegetation practices.
  • Proficiency in ecological surveys and integrating cultural practices into conservation programs.
  • Commitment to student-centred learning and industry placements to build the next generation of conservation professionals.
  • Background in Conservation Nursery/Horticulture, enhancing delivery of impactful conservation outcomes and programs.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage effectively with stakeholders and students alike.
