Aspiri PS is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated educators who are ready to do “The right work, the right way, for the right reasons.”

Aspiri PS is an independent public school which opened in 2018. The school has 985 students enrolled and projected growth for 2025 is 1050. Our school boasts nature play opportunities and promotes creative play with a loose part play focus. We embrace individual and collaborative expression in our students to allow them to reap the rewards from their participation in school. A strong focus on students understanding their personal attributes, personal strengths and areas of challenge will be a focus in the future. We believe in equity and reconciliation and are seeking enthusiastic staff members who are willing to engage in a learning journey that embraces cultural responsiveness, privileging our First Nation People.

The school is in its seventh year of operation, and the ‘seven-year change cycle’ is dynamically taking Aspiri into the future. It is an exciting time to join our team as we take the next big steps in our continuous improvement journey. We believe commitment to improvement ensures our moral purpose remains grounded in student learning. We are seeking teachers who have a similar growth mindset and are committed to working collaboratively in year level teams. Aspiri was accepted into the Department of Education’s first cohort of Leading Cultures of Teaching Excellence, and we are committed to growing professional capabilities to raise the standard of teaching and impact learning. This program will continue at the school in 2025.

We have embraced a distributed leadership model where responsibilities are shared among our staff and opportunities exist for teachers to build their skills as aspirant leaders. Enhanced decision-making, increased creativity and innovation, empowerment of team members, development of leadership capacity, and shared responsibility is a focus. Particular areas of focus in our next business plan are the development of and Early Childhood Education philosophy aligned with Early Years Learning Framework pedagogy. Math and English are also on the improvement journey with a commitment to daily reviews.  The English committee and Math committee have been invested in current research and are looking at the development of a 3-year improvement plan. This improvement drives focus on building rigor and fidelity within classroom programs and make an impact on student learning. Knowledge and experience with embedding high impact teaching strategies such as crafting lessons to the science of reading, teaching synthetic phonics using Letters and Sounds Program, Heggerty, daily reviews and building consistent metalanguage. Teachers applying should be committed to whole school improvement, including classroom observation and feedback.

We are seeking team focussed educators who have a collaborative and growth mindset and are willing to engage in our ‘Communities of Practice’ to improve student outcomes. Time to meet in year level teams is prioritised at the school. Teams meet weekly to analyse student data, discuss student needs and build the capacity of staff to meet these needs. Students are at the centre of all that we do, so we seek passionate teachers who believe they can unlock the potential of every student.

Suitable applicants should promote, model and maintain high expectations and adhere to whole school strategies that are evidence based and supported by research. Educators should prioritise quality teaching and student wellbeing with commitment demonstrated to the ‘Teaching for Impact’ resource. Suitable applicants will ideally be highly motivated, display an openness to learning and be dedicated to raising literacy and numeracy achievement as well as student wellbeing, through the effective use of whole-school approaches and explicit teaching. A strong understanding of the WA Curriculum is highly desirable and a commitment to data driven practice where decisions at classroom, cohort and whole school level are based on the triangulation of data analysis.

Teachers within our Early Childhood Education phase of learning should promote the principles of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards. They should recognise that children need opportunities to learn through play, interact and build trusting relationships. All students are taught the Aspiri HEART Values (Honesty, Effort, Attitude, Respect and Teamwork) and these guide our moral purpose.

We embrace a multicultural school community and our families value education. We are looking for educators with English as an Additional Language or Dialect knowledge and the capacity to provide creative learning that extends our very capable students. We have an established Bring Your Own Device iPad program in Years 4-6, promote the use of Apple Classroom, and use a variety of cross curricular apps to engage our students.
