Are you a reflective and relational educator committed to adopting culturally responsive and evidence-based learning approaches?

We are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2025.  Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements withing the 2025 school year, up to the end of Term 3, 2025.

We are seeking teachers with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills who can build effective relationships and promote strong partnerships to ensure positive outcomes for students. With relationships central to the work we do, teachers at Brabham East Primary School (PS) (planning name) will work together to engage all children, families and stakeholders when building a community of learners.

Teachers within our Early Childhood Education phase of learning will promote the principles of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards. Programs should include planned, purposeful play, balanced with the explicit teaching of essential foundation skills and concepts.

About the school

Brabham East PS (planning name) is situated on Noongar Whadjuk Boodjhar and opens for Kindy to Year 6 students in 2025. The school is projected to open with 250 students and will cater for 540 students. The build includes state of the art facilities including a welcoming administration and innovative early childhood learning environments. To maximise green and play spaces the build will include two double storey general teaching blocks. In addition, the students will have access to modern, state-of the art specialist learning areas to cater for: physical education, visual arts, performing arts, science and technology. In addition, there will be well resourced shared spaces including: a library, covered assembly area, oval and hard courts. Brabham East PS (planning name) is located 26 kilometres from the centre of Perth in the growing suburb of Brabham, near the Caversham area, surrounded by rapidly developing housing estates with many young families. Our school community includes families of different backgrounds and cultures, many from overseas where English is not the first language or dialect spoken at home.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

ELIGIBILITY

Employees will be required to:

  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
