About the role
This role will suit someone who is relationship-focused, highly motivated, and passionate about creating exciting, culturally responsive learning experiences to ignite a desire to learn in students.
The successful applicant will ideally have high expectations and truly believe that all students can learn and be successful. You will provide a learning environment that is caring, engaging, and differentiated to cater for a range of learning needs. Using explicit, evidence-based teaching practices that lead students towards success, you will also be a reflective and innovative teacher who possesses high quality teaching skills and knowledge.

We are embarking on a three year ‘Restorative Practice’ program in our school and are looking for a teacher who will come on board and join us in this exciting new venture.
Our School
Trayning Primary School caters for a diverse range of students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our teachers strive to help our students achieve every day, through our whole school approaches, explicit teaching, and instructional strategies.
Our school, located in the Noongar Ballardong region of the Wheatbelt in Western Australia, takes pride in our approach to teaching and learning. We set high expectations across all learning domains giving our students the greatest chance of success. We are also lucky enough to host and participate with other schools in the near vicinity for incursions, special excursions, and sporting events.
Location and Community
Located in the Noongar Ballardong region of the Wheatbelt in Western Australia, we are a small community of friendly and sociable people who often meet at the local sporting club, which offers tennis and bowls and other social events. There is a magnificent swimming pool with free entry. There is also a post office. Come and get to meet the locals and enjoy a fabulous tree change.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
