Willandra Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 1, 2025.

Suitable applicants will ideally be positive, energetic and innovative teachers, with a willingness to build strong relationships with the students, parents and the community. 

They should implement effective, innovative and engaging learning programs and work collaboratively with staff to apply whole school approaches for curriculum delivery including consistent approaches in literacy and numeracy across the school.

Suitable applicants should utilise effective behaviour management strategies to establish and maintain an organised, orderly and learning-focused classroom. You will also ideally be a reflective teacher who seeks out new opportunities and are focused on your own professional growth.

ELIGIBILITY

Employees will be required to:

• provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
• consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
• obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
• meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements;
• complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
• complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
• complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
• complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
