This is a thirty-six (36) month fixed term, full-time position commencing ASAP.

Marble Bar Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint a motivated, hardworking individual to fill the role of Teacher - Secondary Generalist and join their friendly team.

Teachers and school administrators employed at Marble Bar Primary School in 2024 are eligible to receive an Attraction and Retention Incentive of $7,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year.  Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.

The ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.

About the Role

The successful applicant will supervise schools of isolated and distance education; provide whole of school physical education and STEM support; support the differentiation of individual student programs (e.g. VET); and provide a group education plan for a small group of Year 6 students. Ideally, the successful applicant will be relational, with the ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse people. The successful applicant should possess initiative and flexibility.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY

Employees will be required to:

  • Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment.
  • Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
  • Complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
  • Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
