Moree Secondary College is situated on Gamilaroi country and is part of the Connected Communities Strategy. It services the students from the agricultural region surrounding and within the township of Moree (town population 7,000). Our college services approximately 390 college students, of which, 67% identify as ATSI (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander).
The college is committed to creating connected classrooms with staff who have completed targeted professional learning to strengthen their knowledge and understanding of assessment capable visible learners. We continue to create strong connections with the school community to improve attendance and engagement inclusive of Moree community groups, Moree Local AECG, and external agencies.
Our college is located in the centre of Moree which also hosts outstanding recreation, sporting, banking, performing arts, and shopping facilities. You can travel daily by air and train to Newcastle, the Hunter Valley, and Sydney, and by bus to Brisbane.
- Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with Mild Intellectual Disability Secondary.
- Ability to work collaboratively with an innovative team and other faculties to support the development and implementation of high-quality, evidence-based teaching and diverse learning support programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that build positive relationships with students, staff and the school community.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
