Narara Valley High School is a comprehensive High School on the Central Coast of NSW, with an enrolment of approximately 700 students, including 86 Aboriginal students. Our Support Unit is an integral part of our school community and is comprised of 8 classes. The school welcomes students of all ability levels and has developed a reputation for its strong focus on academic achievement, wellbeing and supporting community aspirations and needs.
Narara Valley High School runs specialist programs in Creative and Performing Arts and Targeted Sport, alongside a range of extra curricular activities. In addition to this, the school has a Young Parents Program and an extensive wellbeing and learning and support team. The school has highly valued partnerships with the Cooinda AECG and other community organisations which further support our educational, wellbeing and transition programs. The PBL values of Respect, Responsibility and Personal Best are embedded in all aspects of school life.
Strategic priorities for Narara Valley High School include literacy, numeracy, HSC attainment, high rates of student attendance and engagement, evidence based pedagogies and learning partnerships. Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with a range of disabilities, including mild to moderate intellectual disabilities, and complex needs in a secondary support unit setting.
Demonstrated well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively, proactively, and professionally with key stakeholders to create positive learning outcomes for students.
Demonstrated ability to develop, differentiate and deliver learning programs that support a diverse range of students through the use of evidence-based best practice, including planning, implementation and evaluation.
Demonstrated evidence of strong classroom practice, effective behaviour management strategies, and the ability to implement wellbeing programs that maintain a positive learning environment.
