Strategic Category Management:
- Conducts research, develops commercial prototypes, analyzes 'price' and 'demand' levers, and utilizes supply market intelligence to formulate advantageous sourcing strategies.
- Syndicates sourcing strategies with Contract Owners and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with corporation goals.
- Maintains a detailed understanding of business process value chains and operational methodologies within assigned categories.
- Keeps watch on key indices and economic data to reflect local, domestic, and international markets in sourcing strategies.
- Develops category risk treatment plans, monitoring contract, supplier, market, geo-political, and supply chain risks.
- Develops Procurement Plans through collaboration with key stakeholders, documenting market intelligence, requirements, and success plans.
- Develops RFx evaluation criteria, leads Procurement Team participation in RFx events, and ensures value for money judgments align with category strategies.
Negotiation and Award:
- Develops negotiation strategies, leads commercial negotiations, and liaises with Legal for legal departures.
- Supports Contract Owners and stakeholders in contract and supplier management, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions and meeting performance requirements.
- Acts as the Corporation’s representative for notices, variations, amendments, and disputes, protecting company's interests.
- Monitors contracts over time, collaborating with stakeholders to develop commercial strategies for sustained value for money.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders and suppliers to drive innovation and performance improvements.
- Identifies and pursues opportunities for incremental ESG outcomes and Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander contractor engagement
Key Relationships:
- Heads of Business and Section Managers: Strategic integration and alignment.
- Contract Owners: Source-to-Contract services, contract management, and supplier management.
- Legal Services: RFx collaboration and SME legal support.
- Operational Business Units: Contract usage, supplier management, and process support.
- Suppliers: Contract management, performance management, risk, safety, strategy alignment.
- Regulators, Industry leaders, and Government stakeholders: Collaboration and alignment related to procurement strategy and regulations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree-level qualification in a business-related discipline.
- Substantial strategic sourcing and Category Management experience, including successful supply market research, preparing commercial strategies, leading high-value negotiations.
- Substantial experience in post-award contract and supplier performance management for complex commercial arrangements.
- Substantial experience in a large multi-disciplined and geographically dispersed organization in engineering, mining, infrastructure asset management, or utilities.
Job Specific:
- Results-oriented focus with achievements in leading complex sourcing/procurement engagements.
- Advanced knowledge of strategic sourcing and Category Management.
- Comprehensive computing skills, including Microsoft Office365.
- Sound people management acumen.
- Experience preparing compelling Sourcing Strategies, Procurement Plans, Recommendation for Award, and Board Papers.
