We’re looking for a Team Leader – Architecture to join our GHD Design team.

GHD Design is a global design company operating through the GHD network of studios and offices with a 30+ year presence in WA. This provides a unique opportunity to leverage the depth of our geographic reach while maintaining local knowledge, infusion, commitment, and character. In WA, our team includes Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design and Urban Design, delivering projects across 10 different market sectors.

Working with an energetic and high-performing team, and with direct supervision and collaboration with the Studio Director, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Identify new target clients/market opportunities for the Architecture team and/or the wider group and take action to realise these opportunities.
- Secure forward workload through business development based on a well established business planning prepared by others with your input.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients and manage client expectations.
- Ensure the delivery of projects is to the client’s expectations.
- Sign off project bids, within delegated authorities. Provide staff with a clear direction; motivate and empower team.
- Provide leadership to the Architecture Team in line with GHD’s values.
- Identify development needs within the team to enable relevant training, coaching and mentoring.
- Share information and expertise with staff.
- Set appropriate standards of behaviour through strong leadership; build team spirit and address issues in a timely manner.
- Foster and facilitate harmonious working relationships between team members, across the Group and other groups within GHD.
- Build effective relationships with other Team Leaders, Business Group Leaders, Property and Buildings Market Leader, Client Relationship Managers and other key personnel.
- Proactively review and manage team’s utilisation (billable time), work in hand and forward workload planning.
- Ensure job work packages, budgets and programs, with written job briefs for the Architecture are put in place and monitored to achieve a successful project outcome.
- Contribute to the implementation of the Group’s business plan.
What you will bring to the team:
- Bachelor degree in Architecture or relevant discipline.
- Registration with the Institute of Architects preferred.
- 8-10+years relevant experience, preferably in a consulting environment.
- Architectural design and documentation skills covering a broad range of project types and budgets.
- Excellent verbal and graphic presentation skills.
- Sound working knowledge and understanding of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards.
- Proficient in the use of Word and Excel.
- Proficient in the use and application of AutoCAD, Revit.
- Understanding of Microsoft Project, Abode Indesign, Photoshop.
- Experience with business development is preferred.
