Team Leader - Am Shift

What does the job look like?  

The AM Team Leader is ultimately responsible for the safe and cost-effective management of transport operations throughout our Laverton site.

Your role entails supporting and fulfilling our dedication to a leading beverage customer by delivering excellent service and operational effectiveness. This position is dynamic and hands-on, involving both driver management and aiding in truck loading/unloading at the site's cross dock, including forklift operation. Possessing a HR truck license would be advantageous to help facilitate coverage across the site.

Working in collaboration with our people, every decision you make will be driven by safety, service, and cost, partnering closely with the customer and sub-contracting companies to support and exceed operational and financial metrics. This is a permanent position, operating Monday – Friday | 4:30am starts, however, there is a minimal anticipation that an individual will be available on-call during weekends during peak periods. Key areas:

• Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the transport function to ensure seamless execution
• Commit to provide effective management and development of driver workforce to provide efficiency
• Ensure the operation is providing superior service offerings to customers through a responsive approach to relationship management and commitment to achieving contracted KPI’s
• Serve as a point of escalation for drivers and troubleshoot any customer-related issues that arise
• Support and assist in unloading and loading of various trucks
• Execute forklift responsibilities throughout the facility
• Connect with the customer and other external stakeholders to ensure their demands are satisfied
• Analyse equipment and operational tasks to deliver productive outcomes through resource utilisation, route optimisation and subcontractor management
• Promoting a safety-first culture and ensuring commitment to Safety, COR and Quality and Compliance requirements

As a collaborative and proven Team Leader, or someone ready to take the next step in their career, you will be well positioned to provide a positive work environment and operational efficiency. You can demonstrate: 

• Strong operational experience in the Transport industry
• LF license is required
• HR Truck license would be advantageous
• Ability to confidently lead and develop a high-performance team
• Possessing a commitment to processes, analytical thinking, and methodical approaches with proficiency in diverse system capabilities
