About the Role

The Team Leader Business Operations is responsible for promoting an awareness of contemporary waste management practices and market trends that will enable the branch to achieve its strategic objectives through delivery of improved social, economic and environmental outcomes.

 

Waste & Resource Management is a full cost price business unit which provides waste management services to both the council and community. The branch takes a lead role in the delivery of council’s waste management strategy which aligns with the sustainability vision and manages solutions to deliver on strategy objectives and actions.

 

Key duties -

  • Leadership of the Waste Facility Officers and the Waste Facility Support Officers, providing administrative support for the waste facilities multi-site, multi-weighbridge point of sale receipting and related systems. 
  • Assist in the coordination of the WRM Branch budget creation, forecasting, and financial performance evaluation. 
  • Review service delivery within the Branch to assess outcomes based on real needs and make recommendations by providing reports and information to assist with informed business decisions. 
  • Lead or participate in strategic WRM projects and implementation of project recommendations.

 

About you

As a professional in this field you will have strong leadership and communication skills. Vital to your success in this role you will uphold excellent negotiation, interpretive and advocacy skills including the ability to develop relationships with Government and industry representatives.

 

You will possess a formal relevant qualifications (Degree)  in the field of Waste Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, and/or a combination of extensive experience, expertise and competence sufficient to perform all duties of the position at this level. Post graduate qualification desirable.

 

As a requirement of this role, you will have a current “C” class drivers licence. 

 

Criminal History Check Required

Appointment to this position is subject to the satisfactory completion of a Criminal History Check.
