Job description

Reporting to the Manager Dealings Services, the Team Leader Folio Management leads a team of specialists to deliver strategic business objectives and provide the timely and accurate preparation and registration of complex dealings related to property transactions in NSW.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of specialists to examine and register dealings including annexed or associated with, plans affecting folios of the Torrens Register, ensuring compliance with operational and legislative requirements.
  • Proactively monitor and meet KPI, requirements of the Concession Deed and service delivery outcomes from an operational perspective and create critical success factors.
  • Provide accurate and regular reports to management on performance and quality, track and implement incremental improvement targets as required.
  • Develop and implement optimal operating workflows for the delivery of general complex dealings and project dealings such as those related to critical government infrastructure projects.
  • Lead the team to generate customer centric solutions through engagement with stakeholders, to drive consistency in dealing preparation and examination, deal with unclear or conflicting information in cases considering the possible legal and eConveyancing implications of decisions taken.
  • Ensure consistency in policies, procedures, and practices through timely updates of internal and external technical publications and the promotion of continuous improvement strategies.
  • Contribute to the organisation performance through active participation in the business and business unit's strategic initiatives and facilitate contribution of key staff to ensure project outcomes are met.
  • Drive cost efficiencies and protection of information assets and revenues.
  • Actively manage performance of direct reports through performance and development agreements, providing feedback on the achievement of objectives in regular appraisals.
  • Lift and maintain team engagement, motivation, recognition, and achievement aligned to planned outcomes.
  • Drive compliance with information security and privacy guidelines and mechanisms and play an active role in protecting the information assets and intellectual property of the organisation.
  • Provide proactive and timely recommendations to the Manager to facilitate informed decision making.

Decision Making and Judgment:

As the Team Leader Folio Management within Dealing Operations, you will play a crucial role in decision making and exercising sound judgment to ensure the provision of secure, responsive, and reliable and title registration to the Community of New South Wales and the achievement of Concession Deed KPIs and obligations. Drawing upon your leadership experience and knowledge of operational excellence methodologies, you will be responsible for making informed decisions that align with the organisational goals and objectives. This entails assessing and evaluating various factors such as business practices and processes, customer and employee experience, stakeholders and both team and individual performance in effective decision making. Your ability to analyse operational performance and workflows and implement continuous improvement and risk mitigation strategies will be critical in making informed decisions, meeting evolving customer expectations, enhancing employee competency levels, and achieving the business strategic objectives.

To be the successful candidate, you will have a minimum 4 years experience in a Team Leader role and demonstrate the ability to perform the responsibilites of the role.

Organisational Overview

Australian Registry Investments is the operator of New South Wales Land Registry Services (NSW LRS), which maintains a secure, efficient, and guaranteed system of land ownership for New South Wales (NSW). The land title registry defines the legal ownership and boundaries of land parcels throughout the State, both private and public, recording changes as they occur.

From property buying and selling to financing, the land title registry underpins billions of dollars of economic activity in NSW each year. New technologies such as online service delivery is being progressively introduced to streamline processing of plans and dealings and provide maximum confidence in the system.

The Plan and Dealing Services unit within NSW LRS provides plan and document registration and inquiry services, maintaining New South Wales land title registers through the recording of land transactions.
