We are seeking a part time Team Leader – Defined Programs to help us make an impact. This role is perfect for someone looking to support people to live the life they choose and develop their career in the industry.
The role leads a of Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to deliver supports to children and adults within group programs using the active support model . The team works together to ensure clients are able to engage in supports that meet their individual care and support needs.
This role focuses on:
- Human Rights Approach – As the Team Leader you will continue to drive our culture to protect and empower the rights of our clients to have choice and control of their own lives, understanding that Disability is a natural part of human diversity that must be respected and supported in all its forms
- Person-centred active support – Ensure supports are delivered using a Person-centred active support model. Seeking out opportunities, maximising choice and control, knowing the person well and adapting support to suit.
- Practice Leadership – Support your staff team using Practice Leadership principles. Allowing opportunities for coaching, supervision and open communication to deliver consistent, collaborative and effective support.
- Safeguards and safe environments – Delivering support that aligns with regulations with a focus on protecting people from harm.
- This role includes a mixture of office-based and active work. As part of your role as the leader, you will be required to work actively providing support services to clients which may include personal care, assistance with and administration of medication, community access support and household assistance.
In your toolkit you will need:
- Previous experience working in the disability or aged care field
- Understanding of current disability services legislation and standards
- Experience in managing staff
- An understanding of positive behaviour management
- A strong commitment to CLRS vision and values
Ideally, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Community Services or equivalent, preferably at Diploma level
This 12 month role has elements of direct support work and administrative work ( 22.8 hours week)
- Direct support work will be required weekly on 4 afternoons per week 2.30pm - 5.30pm approx (School Term Only)
- Admin/planning work required 10 hours per week (days negotiable) throughout school term
- Further direct support work and admin work required over Victorian school holidays (2 weeks per term break)
A NDIS Worker Screening Check and working with children check (Victorian) will be required before commencing – see NDIS Worker Screening check and evidence of three doses of COVID-19 vaccination or medical exemption.
