Who are St Pats?
St Patrick’s Community Support Centre (St Pat’s) is committed to working in partnership with other agencies to support individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in obtaining stable accommodation, independence, and improved quality of life. We provide a range of services to support them on this journey, including emergency relief and meals, health and mental health services, drug and alcohol services, life skills training and a range of accommodation options.
About the Role
This leadership position provides support and oversight to several housing support programs and provides direct line management to several housing support workers.
You will report directly and engage in supervision with the St Pat’s Support Services Manager and work together to ensure the program is sufficiently supported, resourced and the staff have the necessary skills and training to perform their duties.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Provide coaching, mentorship, performance feedback, and supervision to team members to enhance their skills and development
- Assist in monitoring caseloads, compliance with legislation, funding and agency guidelines
- Meet reporting and compliance requirements, including key performance indicators, funding body and internal reports
- Liaise with funding bodies (inclusive of the Department of Communities, Office of Homelessness) to meet the expected outcomes of the program
- Support staff to utilise Best Practice frameworks including: Trauma informed, person centered, strength based, culturally safe and Housing First

- Undertake administrative tasks as appropriate including data entry, case notes, written communications, and any other admin as required for the programs.
Selection Criteria
- Qualifications in relevant areas such as community services, social work, social science, community development, Psychology, and/or significant experience working in the homelessness sector.
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams, staff management and providing direct supervision.
- Demonstrated understanding of issues affecting the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, particularly in relation to chronic homelessness, rough sleeping, and transience.
- Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with people from a wide range of socio-economic, multicultural, and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
- Experience in the provision of services to people with complex support needs, including homelessness, AOD, Family and Domestic Violence, Mental Health, Trauma, Disability, and more.
- The ability to work with complex clients, utilising cultural safety, trauma informed, person centred, strength-based approaches.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with staff, clients, consortium partners, community agencies and other professionals.
- Demonstrated community development skills, and ability to effectively connect, network and strengthen partnerships, professional relationships, and strategic opportunities.
- Relevant computer skills in MS Office software and applications.
