About the position
Council’s Family Health Support Services Department is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic Team Leader Meals on Wheels who will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Meals on Wheels kitchen to produce fresh hot meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of eligible clients.
This is a full-time role working 38 hours per week with remuneration equal to Band 6.
The main responsibilities will include:
- Maintain a high level of kitchen hygiene and safety to prepare cost-effective, nutritious meals in accordance with relevant policies and guidelines
- Oversee the operations of the kitchen including staff supervision, volunteer recruitment and tasks, rostering, ordering and inventory control
- To lead and motivate a diverse range of team members in an open and co-operative team environment, demonstrating the corporate values
About you
- A relevant tertiary qualification with proven experience in bulk meal preparation
- Comprehensive understanding of food safety standards including experience planning menus
- Experience leading teams to provide an excellent standard of customer service
- Excellent computer literacy skills
- Experience leading and working with people from diverse backgrounds and/or volunteers
- Experience in applying policies, procedures, regulations and legislation into work practices
- Current First Aid Certificate, Victorian Drivers Licence, Police Check and Working with Children Check

This position is a Band 6 currently remunerated between $95,504.35 to $103,457.38 per annum, plus superannuation. Overtime will also be paid as required.
