This kind of role doesn’t come around very often! This is an exciting and collaborative leadership role in our Environmental Sustainability and Open Spaces Department, based at Kew Depot.
You will be a Team Leader in our Parks Team ensuring our parks and reserves are maintained to best horticultural practice standards & within the particular conservation management requirements for significant historic gardens.
The position also incorporates landscape design and plant selection responsibilities for a range of Open Space sites including formal and high-profile gardens and civic sites; general parks and reserves; shopping centres; carparks; council managed sites. Supervision of contracts and arranging required works via contractors is a significant part of the role as is leading a passionate and talented team of eight Horticulturalists and a Technical Officer.
You will have experience in supervising a high-performance team, driving standards and constant improvements. An excellent work ethic and time management skills are required along with a passion for open space management. Past experience in Local Government is advantageous.
