About the opportunity
Are you experienced in maintaining playground equipment and leading a small team?
Are you familiar with safety inspections, playground compliance and repairing equipment including softfall repairs?
Do you want to ensure that community recreational assets are maintained to the best standards possible?

At Blacktown, we are dedicated to providing quality playground and fitness equipment assets. With over 400 individual playground areas and fitness stations and the expected construction of over 80 new playgrounds within the City over the next 10 years, this is an opportunity that cannot be missed. We are seeking a highly motivated, appropriately qualified, and experienced individual to lead and work within a small team to provide specialized Playground Maintenance. Duties will include all aspects of Playground Maintenance, inspections, hazard reports, repairs to equipment, minor rubber softfall repairs, mulch top-ups, scheduled servicing and all other issues associated with the day-to-day maintenance of these assets.

Qualifications and experience
Essential:
Formal qualifications in carpentry/ construction or similar
AQF III pesticide qualifications
Class MR Driver’s Licence
Extensive experience in maintenance of Open Space playground and play equipment
Staff supervision experience.
Desirable:
Level II Playground Inspection qualifications
Senior First Aid certificate
Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations
Computer literate
Demonstrated commitment to customer service
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to direct and supervise staff
Availability to work rostered overtime as required.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
Entry level for this position starts at $1,308.84 per week
38-hour working week
Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
