We are looking for an experienced Team Leader to join the CSL Behring Quality Control team based at Broadmeadows (Australia) on a full-time ongoing basis. Reporting to the Senior Manager QC Microbiology, you will lead the bacteriology team, comprising approximately 14 staff members, to ensure that all operational requirements are completed on time and following all regulatory and quality requirements.
Working on-site as the Team Leader QC Microbiology, you will:
- Oversee the daily performance and delivery of accurate Microbial results to customers in a according with GMP standards and QC procedures, aligned with our needs including scheduling and review of all testing and liaising with external testing providers and manufacturing departments;
- Support QC senior management by providing technical support and SME review for bacteriology and collaborate with other QC teams;
- Oversee the investigation and management of out of specification test results for and partner with other groups to help reduce the out of specification results and promote "right first time";
- Participate in the creation, maintenance and review of written procedures, and other quality control documentation;
- Facilitate compliance and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives within the QC Microbiology department and support site project work, CI activities and BHAG's;
- Recruit, retain, and develop the team and sustain employee engagement by creating a culture of quality excellence.
To be considered for this role you have:
- A Bachelor's Degree in science, microbiology, or a related field
- 10+ years' experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related regulated industry such as food testing with significant exposure to GMP
- 5+ years' experience in Bacteriology (Result reading), Bioburden Testing or Sterility Testing
- 5+ years' experience leading and providing technical expertise to a team and managing competing priorities to achieve shared goals in high throughput laboratory environment
- Experience in a role requiring the provision of customer service and successful collaboration
- Experience resolving complex problems by applying advanced technical knowledge and risk-based judgement
- Understanding of GxP principles and the requirements of specific Codes, especially PICs and US CFR requirements
