ADD VALUE - THE ROLE
The Team Leader Roads is responsible for the supervision of Council’s Road Construction and Maintenance staff and the management of resources for undertaking infrastructure construction and maintenance works. The Team Leader Roads delivers designated works and projects in accordance with the specifications provided by the Infrastructure Services service units. The Team Leader Roads is responsible for managing technical, environmental, quality and staff performance on site, as well as collaborating with other supervisors in the delivery of major capital and maintenance projects. The Team Leader Roads is also responsible for all aspects of people management within the Roads Team.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Demonstrated skills and experience in civil construction specifically the construction and maintenance of roads, both sealed and unsealed
- Currently hold or be willing to obtain Certificate IV Civil Construction (Road Construction & Maintenance)
- Solid demonstrated experience overseeing worksites, providing direction and coordinating the construction of major civil infrastructure and maintenance works and projects
- Proven ability to take responsibility for, lead, manage and mentor a team
- Proven Work Health & Safety record, with a sound knowledge of core safe work practices associated with civil construction and maintenance work sites
- Proven experience and demonstrated ability to lead, coach and support staff to achieve work targets efficiently and effectively
- Demonstrated ability to use software applications such as MS Office, Reflect, Authority, Donesafe and council mapping software (Geocortex)
- Proven ability to analyse information and produce meaningful, business-focused reports for sound decision making.
Certificate level training required for this position is supported under Council's Education Assistance Policy, at no cost to you.
This position is offered on a Permanent, Full-Time basis working 38 hours per week. The team currently work a 9-day fortnight and a rotating on-call roster.
Remuneration package for this position is based on Grade 10 of Council's Salary System Protocol which equates to a base salary of $75,331.88 - $84,738.68 per annum plus superannuation. This position attracts the benefit of commuter use of a fit-for-purpose vehicle.
