Team Leader - Strategic Planning

Are you an experienced strategic planner with proven leadership skills?

Are you confident in communication and excel at guiding teams towards achieving their goals?

As the Team Leader for Strategic Planning, you will be responsible for leading a team of eight dedicated professionals in developing and implementing strategic plans. You will collaborate closely with senior management, heritage officers and placemaking staff to align objectives and provide advice and direction.

My client is a respected local council dedicated to serving the needs of their community in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. Committed to fostering collaboration and engagement, they strive to create vibrant and sustainable neighborhoods that enhance the quality of life for their residents.

Reporting into the Manager Strategic Planning and Place, you will be tasked with:

• Formulating, implementing and participating in community consultation programs.
• Presenting to public forums.
• Acting as an expert witness in the Land and Environment Court.
• Providing an effective policy, strategic and environmental planning framework.
• Preparing, reviewing and updating strategic and urban planning policies and plans.
• Responding to Councillor enquiries and requests.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in local environmental planning and policy implementation along with:

• A degree in Town Planning or relevant field.
• High level Team Leadership skills.
• Well-developed skills in PC office software; Microsoft Powerpoint, Word and Excel.
• A proficiency in research and problem solving.
• Current class C driver's licence.
