Band 6 - Salary Range $92,304 - $100,516 per annum + 11% Super + ADO

The Opportunity

Melton City Council's Young Communities Team is seeking an enthusiastic, vibrant, and energetic leader to join the team as Team Leader Youth Projects.

Young Communities are committed to the safety and well-being of all young people. The successful applicant will be responsible for leading a team that delivers a range of programs, projects and accessible support services that promote prosocial behaviour and respond to emerging youth needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, support and coordinate the delivery of the Young Communities key projects, programs and services.
• Provide active and effective leadership, support and supervision for the Projects team, managing resources to achieve targeted objectives with a focus on staff development.
• Report, monitor, evaluate and analyse performance of core programs and services making recommendations on future service provisions in line with Councils strategic direction.
• Engage with young people across the municipality and other key stakeholders (agencies and community groups) to develop and implement improved services / programs to enhance participation of young people.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

• Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Youth Work, Community Development and Welfare or a related discipline with relevant experience.
• Relevant experience in working with young people and their families within a broader community context, that is inclusive of all community members.
• Lead and motivate staff in the development of youth programs and events.
• Relevant experience in working with young people and their families using a family focussed approach to case management.
• Current valid Victorian drivers licence.

• Hold or be able to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check.
