Main Purpose:The Estimator reports directly to the Manager and is responsible for the prompt review and implementation of requested documentation. This is to allow for the delivery of standard of company's Master Bills of Quantities (BOQ), Variation Catalogue items and Standard Design Options, in accordance with established timelines, quality standards and a high level of client satisfaction.

- Master Files (including Framing Guides)

- Recipes/Mini bills for Standard and Display Options
- Relative for the use in setting Sales and Option prices for Sales Consultants and Sales Estimator in the preparation of sales estimates, variations and contract preparation and eventual use by Production Estimators in the production of purchase orders, assisting in reducing the cost of ‘Extra to Schedule’ (ETS) and the day-to-day function of the Technical Services department and reporting analysis.
- To develop and deliver BOQ’ files in accordance with company's ‘Quality Assurance’ (QA), guidelines and timelines for the effective and prompt estimation of projects.
- Provide computer generated BOQ’s and maintain existing BOQ’s within the Estimating System Database (Databuild), Variation Catalogue, Material Cutting Guides, Standard and Option Recipes as per changes in Design, Construction, Display Homes and Specification systems, produced by Design and the Building Manager, for the full range of company's products to approved timeline for delivery.
- Assist in producing Direct Building Costs (DBC) for Retail/Sale Prices.
- Produce pricing of Standard and Display options for product range.
- Assist users with queries relating to the Estimating System Database (Databuild).
- Assist in the management of Price File Requests within the Estimating System Database (Databuild).
- Assist users with queries relating to the Estimating System Database (Databuild).
- Assist in the management of Price File Requests within the Estimating System Database (Databuild).
- Adhere to company's processes and standards.
- Ensure compliance with company's Customer Service standards (internal and external).
- Adhere to OH&S regulations.
- Give recommendation of Design and Construction process improvements if and where necessary.

- 2 - 3 years’ experience in computer estimating.
- Must have residential construction background and experience.
- Accurate Estimating experience along with a keen attention for detail.
- Able to communicate well and work as part of a Team.
- Good organisational abilities.
- Sound Databuild software skills preferred.
- Microsoft (M.S.) Excel and Word experience.
- Able to read and interpret Architectural plans and identify anomalies.
Qualifications
- Undergoing or completed a building Diploma, and/or
- A qualified tradesperson OR completed a Carpentry Apprenticeship.
- Proven experience with a volume builder or equivalent is preferable.
Knowledge
- Suitable building knowledge related to Design and Construction methods.
- Must be up to date with by laws and regulations (Australian Standards) and BCA.
- Computer literacy.
