This role sits within the Finance Business Partnering function at UNSW to deliver end-to-end finance services to our Faculties and Divisions and operates as central and trusted source for financial guidance and services.
This role reports to the Finance Business Partner for our Corporate Services and manages a team of Finance Analysts for the area.
Why your role matters:
The Finance Manager partners with stakeholders to deliver financial management and analysis to inform important decision making at UNSW. Working as part of the wider Finance Business Partnering function, you will manage a team of Analysts providing end to end finance services including financial planning, forecasting, analysis, and reporting for our corporate functions within our Operations Divisions, autonomously overseeing the day to day handing of the business operations of your team.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing overall financial operations of our corporate functions.
- Ensuring budgets are managed, variances analysed and risks mitigated in a timely manner.
- Providing compelling analyses, delivering actionable insights and recommendations.
- Overseeing team data to identify, report on and manage financial risks and opportunities.
- Leading the financial planning, forecasting and management reporting processes.
Who you are: We’re looking for an experienced manager confident in leading a team of finance professionals in a dynamic and collaborative environment. You’ll be practiced in pulling together compelling analysis and insights and comfortable partnering with senior stakeholders to support sound financial decision making. You’ll hold the following skills and experience:
- CA/CPA or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in higher education or a large corporate environment is highly beneficial.
- Strong leadership experience, able to mentor, develop and motivate a team.
- Extensive experience in complex financial management and control processes.
- Highly advanced communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in providing actionable operational advice and delivering financial services.
- An analytic thinker with ability or problem solve against a deadline whilst still ensuring high quality output.
