Position Overview:
Technical and Workshop Liaison Manager:
To proactively provide internal support for our workshop and technicians in the service department with a focus on customer satisfaction.
The Technical and Workshop Liaison Manager will be accountable for all key areas relating to customer satisfaction, technical development of staff, workshop loading,
The TWLM is responsible for overseeing and delivering sound technical knowledge and guidance to mechanical staff, advising staff and customer. TWLM will be responsible for proactively managing operational issues within the workshop as they arise and will be expected to make sound decisions when necessary.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Manage workshop staffing in conjunction with the Service Manager
- Managing technical training for workshop staff
- Ability to diagnose and repair vehicles when necessary
- Provide technical solutions to staff and customers within the agreed times
- Manage productivity and efficiency of workshop staff
- Where required, deliver one on one training with staff
- Provide Technical and non-technical information and guidance to all staff and customers as required
- Manage and create (where necessary) internal policies and procedures
- Work with Service Manager and General Manager with feedback on current or potential issues and provide internal recommendations
- Introduce new and improved workflows based upon current workshop loading and performance
- Proactively manage staff and performance reviews
- Provide regular reports to management frequently
Skills & Experience:
Essential:
- Previous Foreman/Workshop Controller experience
- Qualifications in Light Vehicle Automotive (minimum)
- Sound mechanical knowledge
- Ability to proactively time manager staff
- Ability to coach, mentor and lead staff
- Confident skills in Customer Service and conflict resolution
- Critical thinking to problem solving
- Excellent verbal, written and communication skills
- Sound computer skills
- Be willing to make key decisions when required
- Current driver’s license
- Permanent Residency / Citizenship to Australia
Qualifications:
- Minimum Certificate III Light Vehicle Automotive
- Current NSW drivers licence
- Current Air Conditioning Licence
- AIS Examiner/Proprietor Ticket (favourable)
