The Position
The role is tasked with two main duties.
1.Inspecting incoming parts for quality. This is done by carrying out a visual inspection and comparing to sample parts, measurements, pressure testing, hardness testing, at times destructive testing of parts. This is a very important process to ensure only the highest oh quality parts entre the business.
2.The other main part of the position is to carry out technical inspections on parts coming back under warrantee. This involves looking at parts from an investigative point of view to determine the cause of failure. This could be caused by damage, lack of lubrication or manufacturing defect. This information is used to settle any warrantee matters and also at times provide feedback to part manufacturers for future revisions and improvements.
Other tasks that arise from time to time would be new product testing and development and technical support.
Candidate Requirements
- Mechanical qualification or experience working with Agricultural equipment and machinery.
- Mechanically-minded with an interest in mechanics. A passion for Agricultural equipment is not essential but certainly held in high-regard.
- Attention to detail with the ability to read/diagnose damaged parts to decipher what and why it has failed.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, written and verbal.
- Someone who works well in a team and also autonomously.
- Drivers License.
