AddressLaunch Recruitment are working with a global insurance company to support the software engineering division whilst the business are going through a large scale digital transformation. The role itself can be on a 6months contract bases or a permanent position.

Salary: $200,000 package including super
Day Rate: $1000 inclusive of super a day
As a Technology Expert
- Accountable for delivering high-quality software solutions across technologies into production that deliver customer outcomes.
- Help the team understand and follow architectural design guardrails in partnership with the Architecture team.
- Ensure the team builds & leverages automation effectively across our end-to-end delivery processes and the solutions offered to our business.
- Lead the team to embed software engineering best practices like code reviews, unit testing, performance testing, security, design patterns and object-oriented programming.
- Uplift engineering and DevOps practices to aim for smooth production releases with high quality, speed & stability.
- Use engineering health metrics to help continuously improve team’s delivery maturity.
- Establish an agile operating rhythm that is owned and facilitated by the team. Responsible for ensuring agile ceremonies (daily scrums, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint review/showcase, and sprint retro are happening and ensuring the “self-organising” team over time.
- Track team delivery performance and report on agile metrics such as velocity, Epic burndown, capacity plans, Work in Progress limits, and Cycle Time.
- Work with the Product Owner and the team in managing and meeting delivery expectations in and around planning and prioritization activities.
- Guide and support the team in maintaining a healthy backlog of work including technical debt & non-functional requirements.
- Accountable for production release readiness, ensuring documentation such as Firewall and auditing requirements are correct and complete. Additionally, Security, Quality Assurance, and Performance processes are approved.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on software development experience
- Experience in a tech lead or technical delivery manager role
- Experience with cloud-based technology such as AWS, Docker or Kubernetes
- Experience working a similar role with Salesforce in the tech stack
- JIRA and Confluence Proficiency is desirable.
- Experience of working in an Agile environment
- Previously experience working in an insurance or financial services organisation is an advantage
