The roleWork closely with Delivery leaders, Business stakeholders and the Engineering cohort to design, develop and implement improvements our capability in Engineering including people, tools, culture and way of working.
What you'll do- Lead the adoption of AI tools and solutions across Insurance business
- Create, maintain and support chatbots and supporting systems and end-to-end customer journey
- Be the first point of contact for questions from other engineers within the delivery team, and act as the conduit between the team and Domain Technical Leaders
- Coach and mentor engineers to improve their engineering capabilities and embed good practices
- Ensure the quality of technical solution design, estimation, and delivery in alignment with the domain architectural strategies and designs
- Engage with the architecture discipline to contribute to and influence strategic planning
- Improve and embed best practice engineering with a view across people, process and technology
- Evangelise secure software development principles within the team through practices such as code reviews in line with the Secure Software Development Lifecycle and threat modelling
- Identify opportunities to improve development processes and standards
- Collaborate actively with other Technical Leads to ensure cooperation between teams avoiding duplication and identifying opportunities for reuse
- Assist with investigations into solution options, liaise with technical experts and product owners and contribute to solution design and costing
What you'll bring- Tertiary qualifications in Software Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline or equivalent industry experience
- 5+ years professional software engineering experience with at least 2 years of Technical Leadership responsibilities
- 2+ years of experience with AI frameworks such as IBM Watson
- Experience with Java, ReactJS, Python, Spring etc.
- In depth knowledge of NLP, Machine Learning and Assistant. Preferably - IBM Watson
- Desired - IBM Certified Application Developer - Watson V3
- Experience in developing and deploying applications on cloud platforms
- Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, DevOps, automation and source control systems
- Demonstrated experience with Agile development methodologies
- Experience in coaching and mentoring engineers
