What you'll be doing
The Research Facility Technical Officer will be responsible for routine research facility support, general laboratory maintenance, goods receipt and dispatch and associated laboratory clerical duties within the Kids Research Facility located at the Children’s Hospital Westmead. The Research Facility Technical Officer is a member of the Research Operations Team who support stakeholders within the Kids Research Facility and ensures an efficient, safe and compliant operating environment for research.
- TAFE qualification in Laboratory Skills or Sterilisation Skills, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work in a team and autonomously.
- Effective communication skills (written & oral
- General knowledge and experience with utilising various computer systems with possession of suitable keyboard skills.
- Experience in a laboratory environment
- Willingness to work with infectious material in accordance with required standards.
- An understanding of Office of the Gene Technology Regulator/Physical Containment Level 2 laboratory requirements or a willingness to undertake relevant training/courses, if required.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
