Play a crucial role in supporting research activities at our Dairy Research Facility Based in beautiful Northwest Tasmania – Elliot Farm, Burnie About the opportunity We are seeking to appoint a part time (0.6 FTE) Technical Officer for the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture Livestock Production Centre which is part of The College of Sciences and Engineering This position will form part of a multi-disciplinary team in TIA’s Livestock Production Centre and will be based at the Tasmanian Dairy Research Farm (TDRF), in Elliott in Northwest Tasmania. What you’ll do: Assist with research projects. Maintenance of field and animal studies. Sampling and recording of experimental work. Preparation of samples for laboratory analysis and data entry. Using, maintaining and preparing research and field equipment. What we’re looking for: Completion of a Certificate 3 qualification and at least 1 year’s subsequent relevant work experience. Capacity to learn and perform milk harvesting and animal health activities. Proven organisational skills and a capacity to act independently. Demonstrated capacity of participating effectively in a team environment. Ability to adhere to WHS guidelines. Salary details Appointment to this role will be at HEO 3 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $79,630 comprising base salary within the range of $61,436 to $68,060 plus 17% superannuation.
