Reporting to the Electrical Superintendent, You will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical work complies with legislative and CS Energy requirements.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Qualified Technical Person (QTP) for CS Energy – Callide:
- Sign documents related to electrical work in accordance with the Electrical Safety Act.
- Ensure all documentation is signed and filed per legislative requirements.
- Review and implement electrical safety procedures and policies.
- Mentor electrical workers to ensure competency in their work.
- Conduct inductions for electrical workers and contractors on site requirements
- Apply and monitor quality assurance systems.
- Provide advice on Australian Standards, legislation, and codes of practice.
HAVD Nominated Person for CS Energy – Callide:
- Maintain registers and documentation for the Hazardous Area Verification Dossier.
- Review hazardous area documents for registration.
- Ensure high standards of hazardous area inspection and reporting through review of completed check sheets and reports.
- Assist maintenance, facilities maintenance, overhaul, and PTW teams with work orders involving hazardous areas.
General Compliance Reporting:
- Report on compliance status.
- Develop and execute action plans for rectifications.
This is a full-time, permanent role based at our Callide Power Station.
ABOUT YOUOur preferred candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Required Qualifications and Experience
- Current Electrical work license.
- Preferably 2 years’ experience in the power station industry.
- Relevant competencies in Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas:
- UEENEEG122A - Conduct compliance inspection of single-phase LV electrical installations.
- UEENEEG123A - Conduct compliance inspection of LV electrical installations with demand exceeding 100 A per phase.
- UNEENEEG197A - Apply currency of safe working practices and compliance verification of electrical installations.
- UEENEEM078A – Manage compliance of Hazardous Areas.
- Solid understanding and demonstrated application of electrical safety standards and regulations.
