The Information System and Technology (IS&T) Service is responsible for the provision of IT and communications services and products which are vital to the achievement of SAPOL’s core objectives. IS&T in consultation with its stakeholders, plans, develops and implements new and supports existing IT products and services to agreed quality levels.
The Customer Service Branch is part of the Operational Services stream and provides a range of services to assist all SAPOL staff effectively undertake their role. The Branch provides an efficient customer interface, ensuring users problems are resolved, or assigned to the appropriate area within IS&T for resolution. The Branch provides equipment such as computers, radios and other devices to SAPOL. The Branch provides support to users of operational applications and technology.
The Technical Officer (Electronics) is responsible for contributing to the operational effectiveness of the Traffic Technical Support group within the Radio and Traffic Support Unit (RTSU), and for contributing to successful SAPOL prosecutions by maintaining, calibrating and modifying a range of technical equipment such as fixed red light and speed camera equipment, mobile traffic speed camera units, laser and radar speed detection units, breath analysis equipment, ensuring that all such equipment is maintained to the manufacturer’s specifications and the appropriate Australian Standards.
Special Conditions
- Proven ability to provide advice on technically complex matters;
- Proven skills in the accurate interpretation, design and modification of electronic circuits and circuit diagrams;
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and achieve agreed objectives.
- The incumbent must hold a current Australian work eligibility status and will be subject to a criminal history check.
- The incumbent may be assigned to other duties at this remuneration level or equivalent.
- Some out of hours work and intra/interstate travel may be required.
- The incumbent is required to participate in SAPOL’s iEngage program.
Salary
TG02 - $74,128 - $78,700 per annum.
