Hendrickson is a leading global manufacturer of medium and heavy-duty mechanical suspensions, axle, and brake systems, supplying to the commercial transportation industry. Our Dandenong South head office is the technological hub for the region comprising a full range of engineering tools and equipment and provides application engineering, physical testing, and R&D activities.
THE POSITION
The Technical Sales Manager holds an influential position in our local growth strategy by developing and executing local strategies to identify and cultivate existing and prospective customers. You will establish strong relationships with our customers and key decision-makers by educating them on our products and services and create a value-added opportunity for Hendrickson in their business.
Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Create and/or enhance business development opportunity with existing or prospective customers (OEMs, fleets, and dealers) for all Hendrickson products.
- Act in a consultative or educative manner to understand customer needs and provide technical based solutions to their challenges.
- Lead our Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) to set priorities, field coverage activities, representing Hendrickson at trade shows and/or associated meetings.
- Participate in planning, sales, and business development activities to support Hendrickson’s growth in the local market.
- Formulate solutions to customer inquiries by leveraging on Hendrickson’s product offering.
- Monitor sales performance against Hendrickson’s growth strategy and develop opportunities to bridge gaps.

Our ideal candidate will possess:
- A qualification in Mechanical Engineering (essential) with at least 6+ years of relevant industry experience (preferred but not essential).
- Strong commercial experience in sales or business development.
- Good knowledge of the commercial heavy vehicle industry (preferred but not essential).
- Strong experience in a Technical Sales-based role.
- Strong relationship building and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with ability to engage with stakeholders in a consultative manner.
- Demonstrated experience in leading a team (preferred).
