Foxleigh Mine is located 15km south of Middlemount and approx. 275km northwest of Rockhampton. The mine is in its 23rd year of operation producing premium PCI metallurgical coal for use in steel manufacturing. Job Description
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Technical Services Manager to form part of Foxleigh's Senior Leadership Team. Reporting to the General Manager, you will hold an integral role leading the Technical Services Department to deliver a model approach and support in the areas of mine design, mine planning, geo-technical, geological, survey, and environmental services.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Manage all exploration activities including planning, drilling, logging; sampling, testing, simulating, modelling, reserving and reporting;
- Develop and maintain a fit for purpose resource model for each area;
- Oversee tenure management, applications, renewals and reporting;
- Deliver and maintain the JORC Report and Life of Mine Plan;
- Review and analyse Technical Services costs to meet or reduce site unit costs;
- Create and foster a culture of identifying and analyzing the latest technical improvement that could drive improved outcomes.
- Ensure that all key projects are closely monitored and managed to achieve agreed time and budget outcomes;
- Management of Environmental aspects:
- Mining Offset Management strategy and implementation, including BOMP and ODP;
- Cultural Heritage Management Plan review and consultation;
- Oversight of the commitments for Foxleigh Mine under its Progressive Rehabilitation and Closure Plan;
- Compliance with relevant Environmental Authority
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring a Technical Services Team within a complex open cut mining environment;
- Highly developed strategic thinking, planning and problem solving skills;
- Demonstrated ability to embrace and effectively implement change at an operational and corporate level;
- Highly developed communication, analytical, reasoning and organisational skills;
- Excellent technical knowledge;
- Ability to delivery an annual budget mine plan for the operation;
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or related discipline
You will also become a valuable member of the team, collaborating with other members of the Site Leadership Team on issues that affect the entire location. Your forward-thinking approach and creative solutions enhance cross-functional teamwork on site, contributing to the mine's overall success.
