About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a great opportunity for a Technical Specialist Team Lead to join our Maritime team on the Hunter Class Frigate Program.
The Hunter Class Frigate Program will provide the Australian Defence Force with the highest levels of anti-submarine capability.
As the Technical Specialist Team Lead, you will be instrumental in supporting the Hunter Class Frigate Program deliver electronic publications using your skills and experience in leadership, stakeholder management and XML development.
The Technical Specialist Team Lead will work within the Technical Publications Program using purpose built software and databases based on XML. Technical Specialist Team Lead will provide advice and support to enable a wider team to develop XML data modules within a common source database.
This is an excellent opportunity to take a leading role in designing and delivering a World-class solution on a large-scale project. The work is challenging, varied and rewarding. The sweet of electronic publications (based on an XML S1000D specification) represents a new capability for the Royal Australian Navy.
Key accountabilities:
- Providing advanced XML support to the Technical Publications Program
- Assisting in planning and verifying XML data module development
- Stakeholder consultation relating to the technical aspects of data module and common source database development and delivery
- Collaborate with internal and external teams
- Developing and managing XML schema definitions, standards, and rules
- Writing XML commands, queries and resolve errors
- Running diagnostic tests, resolving errors, and providing back-end support
- Assisting in the development of XML style sheets
- Providing XML training to enhance the technical publication teams XML capabilities
- Manage all personnel actions including leave, performance reviews, salary recommendations, and co-ordination of training and development
About YOU
- An in-depth knowledge and experience with XML
- Understanding of the structure of the Common Source Data Base
- Exposure to Java or any programming language will be advantageous
- Awareness of the Webstack (HTTP, CSS, and JavaScript)
- An understanding of S1000D will be advantageous
- Experience in using SQL
- Highly developed interpersonal skills
- Experience in working collaboratively with external customers
- Eligibility for an NV1 Defence Clearance
