About the role
Patient Support Services Assistant (PSSA)- Technical Suites (Operating Theatres) are required to use initiative to determine how and when they provide the service that they are responsible for and whilst certain parts of the day are structured (e.g. setting up theatres as per the theatre list in the mornings), most of the rostered shift is to be managed flexibly; carrying out the tasks required within the Clinical Area in which they work, under the direction of the Clinical Staff.
Key responsibilities
- Organising the setup and equipment of the operating theatres
- Moving of patients, at the request of the clinical team
- Working in conjunction with other Services within the hospital including ordering and handling linen to provide a seamless service
- Demonstrating professional and effective inter-personnel skills at all times
- To assist in the monitoring and maintaining of cleaning standards
About you
- Certificate III in Health Service Assistant / Health Service Support Services (Highly regarded)
- Hospital experience preferably in operating theatres
- Understanding of Occupational Health & Safety principles
- Excellent organisational & communication skills
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills and an ability to prioritise and multi-task
- To be able to take ownership and responsibility
- Ability to work proactively to help others in a team environment
- Excellent presentation
