About the Opportunity
You will have the opportunity to develop skills and expertise in the key disciplines of Haematology/Coagulation, Chemical Pathology and Blood Transfusion utilising state of the art laboratory equipment. Our laboratory operates over 24 hours/7 days per week and provides both routine and time critical pathology services.
The position is offered on a casual basis. Shift arrangement covers laboratory operating times of 24/7 including overnight, weekend and public holiday shifts.
Specific duties include specimen reception and registration, sample preparation, sample analysis, sample collection from nearby hospitals and equipment maintenance.
Applicants should possess the following:
- sound knowledge and experience in the use of laboratory equipment, automated analysers and quality control material;
- practical and relevant experience in a diagnostic pathology laboratory would be advantageous;
- attention to detail and excellent time management skills;
- a sound working knowledge and experience in working in a quality controlled environment and an understanding of NATA accreditation requirements;
- ability to adapt to change and to be able to work with a dynamic team;
- a positive ‘can do’ attitude and a desire to exceed customer service expectations;
- hold a current Australian drivers’ licence (or equivalent);
- a willingness to work within Clinpath’s values is essential; and
- You will be required to receive the COVID 19 vaccinations (including booster) in order to perform this role and provide copy of certificate.
