Technical Trade Assistant

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a proactive and enthusiastic Trade Assistant to support our team in Yarrawonga NT.

Consideration will also be given to trades persons with a mechanical background who can demonstrate good work ethic and desire to learn. Detailed Valve function, structure and repairs training will be provided.

This position will report to the Workshop Supervisor and daily tasks will include the following:

• Assist with the arrival, manufacture, repair, overhaul, test and dispatch of valves and associated components both in a workshop and site as directed by your team leader or supervisor. 
• Fault find and resolve problems within your areas of competence.
• Ensure all work performed meets the requirements of Quality, NATA and ISO 9001 standards.
• Variety of other workshop and/or site related tasks as required.

The Successful Candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a mechanical trade is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.
• Work within the safety-first environment / culture with other members of your team and encourage safe behaviour
• Understand your responsibility in regard to your own duty of care and your duty of care to all staff under your controlTrade Qualifications. 
• Previous experience with valves is preferred but not essential.
• Capability to deliver quality work.
• High regard for working safely and environmental responsibility.
• Ability to work in an adaptable team and use own initiative.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions.
• Track record of being attentive to accuracy and detail in their work
