We are a leading radio communication / critical communications equipment supplier. The right candidate will be exposed to working with world-class technology including Motorola, Icom, Tait, JVC Kenwood, Wireless Pacific, 3M Peltor etc. The business is in a growth phase and requires another technician, with a understanding of communications technologies such as UHF, WiFi & LTE. Note: this is a casual position initially offering up to 20 hours per week. There may be an opportunity for additional hours, during university holiday periods. Equally there will be flexibility for you to complete your studies, and take time off as is necessary. You must meet all the requirements of the job. This is a competitive position, therefore we may only be able to contact short-listed candidates. We encourage applicants who have served in the Army / Airforce cadets and have a demonstrated history of taking responsibility.
Qualifications & experience
- Currently studying electronic engineering / communications (or similar)
- Minimum 2 years of related work experience.
- Competent knowledge on use of a soldering iron, drills.
- Be able to work independently and within a team.
- Demonstrated history of taking responsibility and proactivity.
- Professional telephone & email communication.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Assembly of electronics equipment.
- Programming radio communication equipment (UHF / WiFi / LTE).
- Service and diagnostic of radio equipment.
- Professional communication with business and government clients.
- Writing user guides / help articles
