Your team 

Our Technology Business Unit drives digital transformation of our core business. With a commitment to excellence, we strive to for ensure that Technology Projects are executed effectively and efficiently assuring delivery on time and within budget, including developing and maintaining high standards by establishing best in class project management methodologies, standards, tools, and reporting to achieve this objective. 

Your new role 

Committed to delivering reliable, sustainable, and innovative energy solutions to our customers, we are seeking a highly skilled Technology PMO Services Manager to spearhead our projects and programs with a goal of executing initiatives with precision and efficiency, ensuring high-quality service delivery is at the forefront.  

Key Responsibilities: 

Methodology Development 

Develop and maintain best-in-class project management methodologies tailored to the specific needs of the organisation. This includes defining project phases, processes, and workflows to ensure consistency and efficiency across all projects. 

Standardisation 

Establish standards for project management practices, including documentation, communication protocols, and project governance. Standardising processes ensures clarity and consistency throughout project lifecycles. 

Tool Selection and Implementation 

Identify and implement appropriate project management tools that facilitate effective planning, scheduling, tracking, and reporting. These tools should support the established methodologies and streamline project execution. 

Quality Assurance 

Implement quality assurance measures to ensure that projects meet defined standards and deliverables. This involves conducting regular reviews, audits, and assessments to identify and address any deviations or deficiencies in project execution. 

Performance Monitoring 

Develop robust reporting mechanisms to track project progress, including key milestones, budget utilisation, and resource allocation. Regular monitoring allows for timely intervention and corrective actions to keep projects on track. 

Risk Management 

Establish a comprehensive risk management framework to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks throughout the project lifecycle. This involves proactive planning and mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and delays. 

Resource Management 

Optimise resource allocation and utilisation to ensure that projects are adequately staffed and resourced. This includes workforce planning, skills assessment, and capacity management to support project objectives. 

Stakeholder Communication 

Facilitate transparent and effective communication with project stakeholders, including sponsors, team members, and external partners. Regular updates and status reports help manage expectations and foster collaboration. 

Continuous Improvement 

Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the PMO by soliciting feedback, evaluating lessons learned, and implementing process enhancements. This ensures ongoing refinement and optimisation of project management practices. 

Training and Development 

Invest in the professional development of project management staff by providing training opportunities, certifications, and mentorship programs. Building a skilled and knowledgeable team is essential for maintaining the high standards of the project delivery.

You will be an exceptional communicator, both written and oral, coupled with superior analytical capabilities to synthesise information and deliver actionable insights to senior decision-makers.  

The successful incumbent will be proficient in project management methodologies and possesses expert-level knowledge in project and change management with a keen understanding of budgetary and profitability management. Experience in leveraging resource management tools and monitoring and evaluating project portfolios in a complex environment is key. You will be a strategic thinker with exceptional judgement and problem-solving skills, adept at addressing root causes of issues and be recognised for the ability to influence and lead a high-performing team within a dynamic environment. Knowledge or experience in the electricity distribution sector or similar industrial and unionised environments is highly advantageous.
