Telecommunications Rigger

We are a rapidly expanding construction company specialising in Mobile Telecommunications and the New Deployment, Upgrading and Maintenance of mobile network infrastructure. Comcell is seeking Telecommunications Riggers (multiple roles available) based in Silverwater NSW for an immediate start. Experience in a similar telecommunications role is preferred.

About the Role

• Full time position with above award pay rates, Sign on Bonus, Vehicle, Phone allowance, Travel incentives and the ability for a finders fees if you bring over proven team mates. 
• Silverwater Location with Opportunities for Travel and Overtime.
• Work at heights on mobile phone base station structures to install antenna’s, feeders, ancillary equipment and Steelwork.
• Work with cranes, cherry pickers and EWPs as required to carry out works on site.
• Carry out manual labour of various descriptions to complete the works as required.
• Carry out rigging techniques to install steelwork on structures, including the requirement to climb Monopoles, towers and guyed masts up to 120m with 100% attachment at all times.
• Installation, labelling and Termination communication cables, RF Cabling, Hybrid/DC Fibre cables of various types and sizes, assist with testing cables for compliance within specifications.
• Installation of earthing systems, Earth rings, Earth Kits, Surge protection and any applicable earth bonding requirements.
• Troubleshooting, investigation, rectification of equipment faults with advanced testing instruments
• Reading and interpretation of Construction Drawings, Standard Detail, and shop drawings.
• Ensure the site is maintained in a clean, tidy and accessible state at all times.
• Adhering to client requirements for site compliance including completion of Daily Risk Site Assessments, Mandatory Safety Site Audits, Client and site provider inductions.
• Collating and submission of photographs and other site artefacts and submission through the Comcell system to our dedicated acceptance team. Including the management and closing out of raised site defects. 
• Co-ordination and liaising with co-workers, Subcontractors, Clients, General Public to ensure seamless completion of projects.

To Be Considered for this Role

• You will need to show demonstrated experience within the Telco - Wireless industry, backed up with an extensive understanding and experience of rigging practices required in this field.
• Attention to Safe work practices and continual improvement of Safety in the workplace.
• A great team player who can also work autonomously.
• Current Drivers Licence, confident in manual transmission & trailer manovering.
• Current NSW Construction Induction (White Card)
• Hands on approach and the ability to understand Telecommunication timelines.
• Physical strength and agility sufficient to perform the work required (ie; climb mobile network towers)
• Ability to work at heights and Competency in the safe use of hand and basic power tools
• Availability for working away from home when required.
• Ability to work under pressure and flexible with onsite hours when required.
• Training will be provided where required, and although we would prefer prior experience in a similar role we will consider ANYONE with a can-do attitude, enthusiasm to learn and a similar alignment to our organisational goals. 

Advantageous Skills and Qualifications

• Basic/Intermediate/advanced Rigging qualification
• Working at Heights Ticket
• EWP Over 11m
• HR Truck license
• Minimum 3 years experience for team leaders role
• Structure upgrade experience 
• Telecommunications Civil Works experience 
• IRATA Level 1/2/3
• Tower Rescue
• Experience in Optus, Vodafone, Telstra, NBN, NSWTA Networks

The more of the above attributes demonstrated, the higher compensation agreement will be considered however Comcell are happy to provide any and all training to help you upskill and be the best Rigger you can be.
