Job Summary: Telecommunications Technician
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Telecommunications Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and a proven track record of excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Optical Fibre Splicing: Must have hands-on experience with optical fibre splicing, including prep & splicing of NBN & Telstra joints.
- NBN & Telstra Networks: Experience working with both carriers and their associated technical standards for installation, fault finding and commissioning.
- Data Cabling: Proficiency in data cabling, conduiting, and terminating internals.
- Interpreting Plans: Highly experienced in reading and understanding NBN & Telstra plans
- Site Surveys: Conducting site surveys to assess telecommunications infrastructure requirements.
- Testing and Commissioning: Using tools such as OTDR, power meter & light source for testing and commissioning.
- Fault Finding & Rectification: Identifying and rectifying faults in telecommunications systems.
- Civils and Cable Hauling: Experience in minor civil works and cable hauling highly desirable
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Cert III in Telecommunications
- Open Cablers Licence with fibre endorsements
- Current Police Check
- Current First Aid
- Australian Manual Drivers Licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to different work sites.

Other Requirements:
- This role services a large part of Northern NSW and will require the successful candidate to travel away for periods of up to 5 days
- This role at times will require the successful candidate to support other functions of the business with civils, hauling and surveying.
- Copper jointing experience is highly desirable or have the willingness to learn jointing up to 100pr cables.
