As a Telemetry and Instrumentation Technician, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of Council's Water and Sewer electronic infrastructure, instrumentation and control systems.
Activities include complex trouble shooting, repair, maintenance and installation of communication and networking equipment, instrumentation and control equipment, digital radio and microwave service equipment and SCADA and Telemetry systems to support the operation of water and sewerage automation networks.
This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.
Key activities of this role include:

• Undertake maintenance of Council's Water and Sewer network's electronic Infrastructure
• Design, install, calibrate and maintain instrumentation and control systems
• Perform commissioning/function testing of pressure, flow, level, temperature and analytical instrumentation in hazardous and nonhazardous areas
• Operate and maintain digital radio and microwave service equipment
• Maintain and troubleshoot SCADA, PLC's and Telemetry and Instrumentation systems
• Undertake field configuration and code changes for PLC's and RTU's
• Perform field SCADA and communication configuration changes
• Supervise apprentices, ensuring they are trained effectively and identify training needs when they arise

Essential criteria:

• Diploma of Electrical Engineering OR Certificate III / IV Instrumentation & Control OR demonstrated equivalent qualifications with relevant experience
• Current NSW Electrical Supervisors License
• Current Class C Driver's Licence
• Valid Construction- General Induction Card- NSW WorkSafe or equivalent
• Current Safe Working at Heights or willingness to obtain
• Demonstrated experience in trouble shooting, repair, maintenance and installation of Instrumentation and control equipment
• Demonstrated experience in maintaining and troubleshooting digital radio and microwave service equipment
• Previous experience demonstrating advanced competency and working knowledge with PLC, SCADA and Telemetry systems
• Strong customer service ethos and a demonstrated customer-centric approach to service provision
• Ability to work outside of ordinary hours and participate in an on-call roster as required

This role provides a commencing salary range of between $82.9k to $99.5k per annum dependent on skills and experience + $18.28 weekly allowance + 11% superannuation.
Successful candidates may be required to undertake a course of vaccinations against Hepatitis A and B and Tetanus or demonstrate their immunity.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to undertake and pass a Confined Spaces medical.
