About the Role:
We are looking for a Level C Teaching Focused Academic to teach into the dual degree Midwifery and Nursing. The person in this role reports to the Head of Programs, Nursing and Midwifery, Professor Karen-leigh Edward.
You will be required to make a significant contribution to ensuring a successful student progression and course completion teaching in the VU Block Model®. In addition, the successful applicant will be required to carry out activities to develop scholarship in nursing and midwifery including scholarship in teaching and learning.
This is a continuing, full time Teaching Focused Academic position at a Level C, $124,457 - $143,506 classification working 36.75 hours per week.
An example of duties you may perform will include:
- Teaching and learning at AQF7 level into the Midwifery and Nursing dual degree
- Teaching into the single degree where necessary
- Work closely with the Course Chair of the dual degree to deliver quality teaching in midwifery education
- Work closely with the PPL regarding PEP for the students
- Scholarship of teaching and learning resulting in scientific publications and quality improvement of the course
- Lead or contribute significantly to accreditation of the programs
- Post graduate teaching
- Supervision of HDRs and honours
The person is required to maintain clinical competence in midwifery practice and education. You will hold Doctoral level qualification in Midwifery and/or Nursing and have current registration as a Registered Midwife with AHPRA.
